Seven Students Selected to Receive Smithfield-Luter Foundation Scholarships

The Smithfield-Luter Foundation recently announced the 2004-2005 scholarship recipients. Seven students who are either children or grandchildren of current or retired Smithfield employees will receive scholarships together worth over $100,000.

These seven students were selected out of a pool of 26 applicants who applied to one of the following schools: Iowa State University, Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech) and Wake Forest University. The financial aid office and the admissions office at each school reviewed and selected the winners.

Three of the winners will be attending Iowa State in the fall; there will also be three attending Virginia Tech. One student will be attending Wake Forest.

The Smithfield-Luter Foundation looks forward to the success of these young students and congratulates these parents, grandparents and children.

If your child or grandchild is interested in a Smithfield-Luter Foundation Scholarship, have them contact the admissions office at Iowa State University, Virginia Tech and/or Wake Forest University for an application.

This program is a great opportunity for our employees and their families, for more information on a scholarship or how to reach university contacts, visit www.smithfieldluterfoundation.com.
